🔹While so many mothers are proud of their children, they are embarrassed with their post-pregnancy bodies. A Mommy Makeover is a combination of two surgeries that address issues commonly resulting from pregnancy: the excess of skin (and often fat) of the abdominal area, and a lifting and/or volumizing of the breasts. This is because, while diet and exercise are excellent for one’s health, they unfortunately have no effect on breast-volume loss and overstretched breast and abdominal skin. The abdominoplasty, or “tummy tuck,” removes the excess fat and skin to flatten the stomach and restore the waistline. 🔹Can you guess what was done? If you guessed “implant removal,” you are only partially correct. Contrary to popular thought, the removal of implants does not necessarily return patients to their pre-implant volume. Instead, implant removal can result in a “pancake-like” appearance – or even a “crater-like” appearance – of the breasts. When this patient’s implants were removed, she was left with a totally flat chest. To recreate the shape and size of her pre-implant breasts, I used fat-transplantation surgery to sculpt her breasts to their prior appearance, harvesting her own fat from her abdomen, flanks, and thighs.
