Dr. David Dow earned his DDS from the State University of New York Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He received his MS in Oral Biology and his Certification in Endodontics from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Dow is board certified by the American Board of Endodontics and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Oral Biology and Endodontics at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. He is also the lead Endodontics instructor for the General Practice Residency Program at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Dow served as a Dental Corps Officer in the US Navy following dental school. He served in Japan, Italy, Illinois, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as on two ships. During that time, he also completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Health Clinic Great Lakes, Illinois, and was selected as the Resident of the Year. While completing his residency in Endodontics, he was selected as Chief Resident for the Endodontics department, overseeing nine residents. He was also asked to return on staff following graduation, and instructed postgraduate dental students in Endodontics for multiple residency programs. He has lectured on Endodontics for national and international CE course participants. He also instructed a hands-on course in surgical endodontics for postgraduate students. Dr. Dow is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
