Joseph Kowalski attended The Marshall University in Huntington in West Virginia, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. A participant of Marshall’s Honors Programs, he was a member of multiple honor societies, including Phi Alpha Theta, Alpha Kappa Delta, Sigma Tau Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Academic Honor Societies.
Dr Kowalski attended The Marshall University’s School of Medicine (’80-’84) and completed both his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Marshall University (’84-’87). He then completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at University of Louisville in Louisville, KY (’87-90), where he served two of those years as Chief Fellow. He received extensive training in Nuclear Medicine.
He is currently Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr Kowalski is currently Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Labs at Heart Hospital of Lafayette and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He also serves as Medical Director and is on the Board of Directors at Heart Hospital. Dr Kowalski holds the position of Director of Cardiovascular Services and is on the Cardiovascular Advisory Board at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Since he has practiced medicine in Louisiana since 1990, Dr Kowalski married and has raised his two children in the Acadiana area. Golf is one of his favorite hobbies.
