Rehan Ali is a long time Lafayette native. He attended Lafayette High School for two years before transferring to the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts In Natchitoches, Louisiana. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University (2001) prior to attending St George’s University School of Medicine (2006). He then returned to his home state of Louisiana to attend Louisiana State University in New Orleans (2006-09) to fulfill his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He was then appointed Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at University Hospital, where he supervised over 90 physicians. From 2010-13, he completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at LSU in New Orleans. He then travelled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to complete a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Hahnemann Hospital in conjunction with Drexel University, where he received extensive training in coronary as well as peripheral interventions and limb salvage procedures.
Dr. Ali actively participates in clinical research trials and has been published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society and Baylor University Medical Center's Proceedings. In his spare time, Dr. Ali watches college and professional football and enjoys traveling, swimming and playing chess. He is currently Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
