About

The Structural Management® Program was developed to address the FLAWS in our present sportsmedicine system;

Traditional sportsmedicine “REACTS” to injuries.

There is no participation with a healthcare provider until an athlete becomes injured.

Virtually all injury prevention/treatment decisions are governed by insurance coverage.

The needs of an athlete are far different than the coverage provided for the masses.

Treatment, which is “allowed” by your insurance policy, is thoroughly inadequate and ignorant of long term needs.

The insurance industry is a business, and doesn’t care about the future injuries or performance of athletes.

Testing and Treatment “allowed” by your insurance policy is reducing every year, while the consumer’s costs (co-pays, deductibles and premiums) are going up.

Biomechanics does not exist in our traditional sportsmedicine system, yet….
99% of all sports injuries are biomechanical in nature.
Very few “sportsmedicine Drs.” have any knowledge of biomechanics.
Recommendations are made by Drs. with limited knowledge of the complexity of the injury.
Inappropriate recommendations are often made as the Dr. is unaware of the biomechanical findings that are present.

There is a de-emphasis of x-rays today as our traditional system only uses x-rays to detect pathology (disease) and fractures. Drs. are not trained in the use of x-rays for the detection of biomechanical information, despite the fact that x-rays are the number one tool in performing a biomechanical exam. There is a wealth of information available, yet most Drs. will take x-rays in the laying down position, removing the effect of gravity and eliminating the most critical information an athlete could hope for………the predictability of future injuries.

The Structural Management® Program is the preferred program for

Athletes who want to understand their current and unique biomechanics
Athletes with acute injuries
Athletes with long term, chronic injuries
