Dr. Uta Kerl received her undergraduate degree from University of California Berkeley with a BS in Nutritional Science. She attended UCSF Medical School and subsequently completed her Pediatric Residency at Stanford. While she stayed close to home for her medical training, she has always enjoyed travel and appreciates her experience living abroad. Dr.Kerl was born in Germany, and lived in Johannesburg South Africa for two years as a teen. Memorable work experiences abroad include volunteering as a Pediatrician at Barretstown Camp in Ireland, a camp for children with serious illness.
Dr Kerl is a board-certified Pediatrician and Fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics and has been practicing in Marin since 1998. Before coming to Marin, Dr Kerl practiced for two years with Los Gatos Pediatric Associates. In Marin she has held positions as Pediatric Hospitalist at MGH, worked for many years with the Prima After Hours Clinic and Prima Medical Group and is excited to be among the three founding partners at Magnolia Pediatrics of Marin.
As a general pediatrician, Dr Kerl values her role as advocate of health promotion and illness prevention and enjoys counseling families on issues related to nutrition and behavioral/developmental pediatrics.
As a mother of a young son, she has a keen appreciation of the unique challenges and joys of parenting, and welcomes the opportunity to work in partnership with the families of Magnolia Pediatrics of Marin.
In her free time she most enjoys outdoor activities in nature and spending time with family and friends.
