A native of Taiwan, Dr Jeff Chen completed medical school at National Taiwan University (’83) where he received multiple Scholastic Excellence Achievement Awards and graduated at the top of his class. He subsequently moved to California where he completed both his Internship (’85-’86) and Residency (’87-’89) at the University of California, Irvine-Long Beach Program. Both of his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowships (’89-’93) were fulfilled at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Dr. Chen has also had professional accomplishments at the University of Southern California School of Medicine and Medical Center including Clinical Instructor of Medicine (’89-’92), Chief Administrative Fellow, Division of Cardiology University of Southern California (’92), Assistant Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (’92-’93), Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine (’92-’93). After relocating to Louisiana in 1993 he served as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana (’95). Dr. Chen was honored by the American Medical Association for Physician’s Recognition Award from March of 2000 through May 2014.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease & Interventional Cardiology. He also holds Board Certification in Nuclear Cardiology (’06) and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (’10). Dr. Chen is a member of both the American College of Cardiology (Fellow) and The American Medical Association.
Dr Chen is married and an avid family man who truly enjoys caring for his patients, promoting health education and wellness.
