At Ecologic Dentistry we aim for the least toxic approach to dental care.
Our advanced LUM system uses a specific wavelength of light enabling us to “see inside” of a tooth and detect cavities, often without the necessity of having to be exposed to radiation from x-rays. This system may reduce the number of x-rays required for diagnosis of cavities.

I purchased a home version of one of the air filter units we have at Ecologic Dentistry used to remove mercury vapor/particulate and now aerosols (minimizing potential covid spread). The hose in these units are placed right next to the patient’s mouth to capture and filter thread toxins right at the source - patients’ mouths.
I’ve been using this home model since we have such poor air quality right now. Look at how much has been collected! The bottom of the liner now black.
Mercury vapor is colorless and odorless so it is undetectable. And of course other pathogens and toxins are not usually visible. So to see this working brings me peace of mind that we are doing right by our patients and team. -Doc Y

Finally, the FDA has cautioned that “harmful health effects of mercury vapor released from the device” (dental amalgam) could impact high-risk populations. Susceptible groups advised to avoid getting mercury amalgam fillings include pregnant women and fetuses; women planning to become pregnant; nursing women and their newborns and infants; children; people with neurological disease such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease; people with impaired kidney function; and people with known heightened sensitivity (allergy) to mercury or other components of dental amalgam.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF )
Human blood is rich in leucocytes and growth factors that promote healing of surgical sites such as from extractions. Using PRF technology, the patient’s own blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to obtain a platelet rich fibrin which can be used in surgical sites to promote healing as well as to support bone and soft tissue growth. It can be used in place of utilizing membrane material derived from porcine.
The infographic was created in 2020 to demonstrate that the FDA considers 60% of the U.S. population as high-risk for adverse health outcomes from dental amalgam mercury fillings.
