Dr. Schulman specializes in the care of patients with various autoimmune and rheumatic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative inflammatory arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and general rheumatology. She is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound and uses this in her clinical practice to help with early diagnosis and therapeutic injections. Her research has focused on the impact of obesity on remission rates in rheumatoid arthritis and the efficacy of varying drug therapies in rheumatoid arthritis. She also is interested in medical education and enjoys teaching learners at all levels.
In caring for patients with autoimmune and rheumatic conditions, Dr. Schulman's priority is to develop meaningful patient-physician relationships and to empower patients to be advocates in their own healthcare journey while providing expertise and knowledge to guide patients towards the right personal treatment plan.
