⭐️ 🥕 🐥 🍌 🍌 🍩 🍭 can you guess what these 7 emojis have to do with this pup’s story? 🙈 This is Dexter, a 6 year old rhodesian ridgeback who ingested this entire lineup of stuffies. Yep, you read that correctly! He managed to gobble down 7 of his toys (one star, one carrot, one duck, TWO bananas, a sprinkle donut and a lollipop!) The toys were removed from his stomach by endoscopy, he recovered well and was later discharged to go home 🥰 We still aren’t sure what motivated him to swallow so many toys in a row but a good guess is that he’s been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛 and felt inspired to become a beautiful butterfly too 🦋 *fur kids, please don’t try this at home* 🍰🍦🥒🧀🍖🍭🎂🥟🍗🍉 Dexter, you are still the bestest boy! Give him some love in the comments👇🐾
Abby’s owner shared this with us and we can’t stop smiling. So glad that she’s feeling better! ♥️♥️♥️ 🐾 “Thank you for your expert care a few weeks back! I wanted to just pop in and say thank you and hello after helping my dog Abby who suffered dog bite wounds. She is doing great, all healed up and back to her old self!”
11/23/20 Please read this letter from the doctors at EVCOT regarding COVID and it’s impact on our clinic. ☎️ Another thing to keep in mind is that we are doing all of our intake/discharging and client communication over the phone at this time. Despite having multiple phone lines, this can tie our lines up when we are extremely busy. If you can not reach us and your pet is experiencing an emergency, please head into the clinic. We are never closed- we operate 24/7, even during the holidays. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. 🐾
We wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁🍽 ( (p.s. don’t thaw the Turkey in the tub, your dog will find it and eat it alllllllll. Lock the trash can lids 🔐 and it’s always best to not share the scraps, especially bones and high fat dinner items!)

You are looking fabulous Miss Shadow! Thanks for the pictures and the update ❤️ we appreciate it so much! Jessica Wheeler recommends Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin. January 8 at 3:44 PM · New Year’s Day our kitty Shadow had developed a huge abscess on her neck! She was very lethargic and had a fever of 105! I called and they said bring her in ASAP. EVCOT took great care of Shadow. She had surgery to open and clean out the abscess. She was sent home with antibiotics, pain meds, and good instructions for wound care. I was also really impressed with the detailed chart showing when she was checked on, and cared for throughout her 9 hour stay at the clinic. Thank you Dr Williams and all the clinic staff. Everyone we talked with was very nice. The clinic is very busy, have some patience people! Things are hard with COVID, yes we waited in our car several hours, I saw at least 8 animals brought in over 4 hours. We went home for a few hours and came back after her surgery. They are doing their best, even our normal vet office has been crazy busy. A week later shadow is feeling great, and her abscess wound is almost completely closed.

Oregon Veterinary Medical Association January 22 at 7:28 AM · It's going to be a cold weekend in Oregon. A reminder that it's best to have your pets sleep inside when temps get low at night. Dogs and cats that sleep outdoors should have a dry, draft-free place to sleep. The floor of the shelter should be raised off the ground to keep cold and moisture away from your pet. Ideally, the shelter should be heated, insulated, and have a door to keep the elements out. During extreme weather, pets should stay inside. If your pet is shivering and refuses to play, the animal is too cold and should come inside. Read more: https://oregonvma.org/care-health/seasonal-issues/winter-pet-care-tips

Did you know the common porcupine, the type of porcupine that are found in Oregon, have up to 30,000 bare-tipped quills on their body?! 😱 Porcupines do not hibernate and are active throughout the year. Activity is mostly nocturnal but those feeding in trees may be observed at any time during the day. Has your dog ever had a run-in with a common porcupine? We hope not! But we do see these cases at our ER. Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin December 17, 2013 at 8:33 PM · Occasionally we have to help the unfortunate porcupine-attacking dog. This is Koppir, a walker hound who (hopefully) learned to leave those guys alone. Quills migrate deeper into tissue over time, so it's very important to find them all and pull them out whole. We de-quilled Koppir under anesthesia, clipped and cleaned his wounds, and were able to send him on his way with antibiotics and pain meds. Hopefully, he left a little wiser too!
With lots of rivers, streams and lakes to explore in our area, we definitely see salmon poisoning cases at the ER. Common symptoms of salmon poisoning include lack of appetite, fever, weakness, and vomiting. Symptoms can develop within a few days to two weeks after the dog eats the dead salmon 🐟🐟🐟 KOIN.COM Local veterinarians warn dog owners of salmon poisoning
