We asked Case Manager Ashley Franklin why she loves what she does. Here's what she said:
"l went into nursing after caring for my grandfather. I watched people take care of him like family, and that made such a difference. I wanted to be there and help others as we had received such wonderful help.
"I started on the floor working nights as a nurse at Encompass Health, and I loved it, but I was missing the follow through, and with case management I get to have that.
"The joy of getting to see someone walk out of here after coming in unable to walk or struggling to sit up straight, that is why I love what I do. I love seeing the smiles on the faces of our patients when I visit, and they are so proud to tell me they took steps today. I love being a part of something bigger.
"I truly believe that the only way to do great work is to love what you do, and I love what we do at Encompass Health."
