Every beginning starts from the beginning, right? Birth is the door to many histories and can be determinant to who is involved in this plot. The scenario can change, but the kind look, the knowledge, and the emotional support needs to be there to help the family have a respectful birth. My path in this universe started on the other side of this hemisphere, my home country Brazil. As a journalist I started to write about motherhood, pregnancy, breastfeeding and education. From writing about it with passion to becoming a doula was a jump. After taking a Doula Training at GAMA – Grupo de Apoio à Maternidade Ativa, I started to work as a doula volunteer at a large public hospital in São Paulo, where I also took the Breastfeeding training. There, I had the opportunity to work with several families in their different realities. Arriving in USA in 2017, I completed the DONA International Birth Doula training and Postpartum Doula training through the Simkin Center, at Bastyr University. I'm a facilitator of a women's group and a certified Reiki practitioner. Putting these tools together as a doula, I can support families in these important moments that can change the baby’s bond, the way the families raise their kids, how they can engage in their communities, knowing their rights, and being empowered. Every beginning starts at the beginning, and good beginnings write different histories. Birth Doula Rate: $1600
