Jocelyn trained as a doula with the Organization of Labor Assistants for Birth Options and Resources in 2006 and has also studied with leading midwife Ina May Gaskin. Prior to coming on board at Swedish, Jocelyn ran a volunteer doula program at the Washington DC Birth Center for three years, served on the Board of Directors for Chicago Volunteer Doulas, and founded a birth and parenting services company in Chicago called Ohana Doulas (Ohana means "family" in Hawaiian). She returned home to Seattle and joined Swedish in 2015. Jocelyn has experience working with first-time parents, parents of multiple children, parents who conceive through other assisted reproductive technology, parents trying for a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean, same-sex couples, single mothers, people who have experienced pregnancy loss, those with high-risk pregnancies, parents utilizing hypnobirthing techniques, and others. Jocelyn also has a background in health care policy. She holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. In addition to working with families during pregnancy and the new parenthood stages, Jocelyn enjoys hiking, salsa dancing, and hosting dinner parties. She lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle with her husband and son.Rate: $1600
