They came up with the idea that at 6:00 tonight, they would stand out on their porches, open their windows and ring bells, clang pot and pans with a spoon ~ just make some noise~ to remind each other how many friends and neighbors surround you, support you, and are here for you! Walk for Warmth, hosted by the Ottawa County CAA, raises money for families and individuals in need within Ottawa county who have received a utility shut off notice.
Today, Freedom Village residents participated as a team by walking from our campus to Evergreen Commons and back along the snow melt of downtown Holland. While donations are still being accepted through the end of the week, over $1,200 has been raised so far! Residents who participated received matching orange Freedom Village hats.🧡

We recently had a “big read” event at Freedom Village in which many of the residents read “News of the World” ~ the main character in the book, Jefferson Kyle Kidd, travels from town to town giving readings from the latest newspapers to small towns throughout Texas in the late 1800’s. (it’s a great read!)

We have an amazing Activities team at Freedom Village! This week we celebrate each of you ~ thank you for ALL you do each and every day ~ Bravo!
We are so grateful to have begun Phase 1B of our Covid-19 vaccine rollout! Phase 1A began December 28th and gave our Long-Term Care residents and frontline employees the opportunity to get the first dose of the vaccine. This week Phase 1B gave our Independent Living residents the ability to begin the vaccination process. Those who received the vaccine December 28th will be receiving their second dose later this month.👍
