Board-certified surgeon Gabriel Akopian, MD, specializes in the most advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques used in the treatment of the colon. Dr. Akopian received his undergraduate degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles before attending medical school at Boston University. He graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and a fixture on the university’s Dean’s List.
After graduation, he completed his residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, where he was named chief surgical resident. Dr. Akopian also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
