Garry Sherman, DPM, ABPOPPM, APMSB treats high level athletes in the United States and all over the world, including England, Brussels, Argentina and Canada. Our sports podiatrist, Dr. Garry Sherman, works with world class high-ranking athletes in many sports. He is a former team physician for Billy Jean King’s team in the World Team Tennis League and past researcher for the United States Figure Skating Association. Currently a Biomechanical Sports Podiatrist for Rutgers University, Dr. Sherman has conducted numerous biomechanical studies analyzing foot and other lower extremity issues. Our patients receive a scientific physical exam (which includes lines of force, angles of inclination, etc.) and using computerized models we can diagnose 6 different types of shin splints and identify forces in the knee than can predispose an athlete to ACL injuries, various Achilles, ITB, hamstring and quad issues. Using the most current scientific analysis, we are able to prevent injury and dramatically improve performance. We can help runners shave a minute off their mile, improve knee function for increased lift and efficiency, give athlete’s the ability to make quicker starts, sharper cuts and to have greater endurance. Our Cedar Knolls office offers flexible hours to accommodate sports schedules and will see out of town athletes by special appointment. We provide a free exam for children 9 and younger.
