Geoffrey L. Blatt, MD has been with Midwest Neurosurgery Associates since 1992. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed Neurosurgical Residency and Fellowship at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Brown University in Rhode Island respectively. He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Blatt has been honored as a Top Neurological Surgeon by multiple organizations including US News and World Report, Ingrams Magazine, KC Magazine, Castle Connelly and The Consumers Research Council. He has served as a departmental head and on the Board of Directors of hospitals. He is a past president of the Missouri State Neurosurgical Society and the Kansas City Neurology and Neurosurgical Society. He served on the National Council of State Neurosurgical Societies.
While he practices general neurosurgery, he does have specialty training in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery, vascular neurosurgery, endoscopic neurosurgery, and stereotactic radiosurgery (Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, and Novalis). Dr. Blatt holds patents on devices for replacement of spinal discs and has been involved in the development of some widely used spinal instrumentation.
