The staff at the Gurwin Healthcare System are saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend Christopher Pendergast. Chris was a warrior in the fight against #ALS and devoted his life to raising awareness and funds for research and support. Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was a frequent stop on the annual ALS Ride for Life -- our staff and residents will miss his determination and positive energy.

During #NationalRespiratoryCareWeek, we want to acknowledge the #respiratorytherapyteam at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their commitment to protecting the health and safety of our residents on our #ventilator unit, especially during the outset of the #COVID-19 outbreak last spring. Despite the challenges presented by the healthcare crisis, the Gurwin RT team was able to successfully rehab and wean patients from their ventilators, enabling them to safely return home.
