Friends,
We will be open, but scaling back our clinic services beginning on 3/23/20. We had hoped to continue doing healthy pet wellness visits as long as we could, but for the next couple weeks we will only be seeing patients who are in need of immediate attention, or have an ongoing issue that requires management. Our CSR team is reaching out to all upcoming appointments to go over rescheduling. There are a number of appointments that may be able to be done via phone or email consultation as well.
We feel this is truly the best thing to do at this point to keep our staff healthy. We also feel a strong sense of obligation to preserve essential personal protection resources for our human healthcare heroes, as many states are already facing shortages.
Please note, we are still OPEN! We are sending lots of spring preventives, food, supplies out the door via our pick-up shelf. We are sanitizing the vestibule hourly and leaving the door open for fresh air as weather permits. We are also running full steam approving orders in our online store. It is very easy to arrange a pick up for supplies, just give us a call @ (515)243-4665.
With the uncertainty of what the next few weeks will bring, please make sure you have what you need for your pets.
Thank you to anyone who has checked in on us, sent well wishes, encouragement, lunch funds, coffee supplies, etc to our staff.
We’re all in this together ♥️ 🐾

Friends,
We are closely following the COVID-19 pandemic that is affecting so many schools, businesses, and activities across the state, nation, and on a global scale. The health and safety of our clients, employees, and pets is and will continue to be our number one priority. We are currently operating with normal business hours, and with minimal disruption to our schedule. Dr. Forret will continue seeing appointments, with modifications. As we all have experienced in the last 24-48 hours, the situation can devolve quickly and this may change.
We ask that you take a moment and please review our attached statement on what changes you can expect, and monitor our website, app, and facebook as we post alternatives that are available to you in the coming days. Working closely with pets often means working closely with their families, but please be mindful of our staff’s personal space and allow them to practice social distancing.
Please be prepared. We do not have plans to close, but understand that choice can be taken from us without much notice by the powers that be. We may be instructed to close or modify what appointments we can and cannot see. Please make sure your pet’s have the food, supplies, and medication they would require should we become unavailable.
We are advocates of preventive medicine and care, with our beloved animals and now in a situation that many of us have not experienced before. Be patient with our staff and each other as we work through this as a community, and it goes without saying that we hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy through this situation. As always please do not hesitate to contact our staff with any questions.
Best,
Your HPAH Team
