Dr. Rush has a few Shelties. The oldest one, Murphy, herniated a disc in his back (L1-2) Sept. 25. He lost the use of his back legs. So the two of them headed off to Univ. of Wisconsin in Madison. He had successful surgery on Sept. 25. Unfortunately Ames doesn't have a neurologist. Here is a video from Oct. 3. One of the neuro techs made this sling for him, so he can urinate and not get the sling wet. He has a journey ahead, but he is making progress. Quite the experience for a guy who will be 14 years old at the end of this month. I have a new appreciation for folks who have worked with down dogs.
