Hinh (Keith) D. Nguyen, MD, FSCAI is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology, and he practices at South Texas Cardiology Specialists in San Antonio.
Dr. Nguyen joined the practice after completing his fellowships in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions in Rochester, New York. His training and experience provide unique expertise and experience in radial access interventions, where, instead of inserting catheters in the femoral artery in the groin, in many patients, Dr. Nguyen can insert the catheter in the radial artery in the wrist where the risk of bleeding and vascular complications are lower, patients will have less discomfort, can get up much sooner after catheterization and often spend less time in hospital.
He has also been recognized for record-breaking 10-minute and seven-minute door-to-balloon (or door-to-device) times at Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan. Dr. Nguyen also performs peripheral vascular interventions (endovascular revascularization) to open blockages and relieve symptoms in the blood vessels in the legs in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD).
Dr. Nguyen practices in downtown San Antonio, and also sees patients at Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan, Methodist Hospital | Stone Oak and Methodist Hospital South.
