Please ask your friends, neighbors, coworkers... we are doing this shoe drive to support a dog for Ollie until Nov 20th!
It’s called Shoes With Heart! Ollie is 5, autistic nonverbal. After the drive. Ollie receives a donation to his fundraiser based off the total weight of the shoes collected. The shoes are then sent to struggling communities all over the world to give small business owners products and to boost local commerce.
Shoes can come in all shapes, colors, sizes, men’s, women’s, kids, babies, even sports shoes. So long as they are still usable, no holes, not wet, and have no mold or flapping mouth soles coming off.

Today we started painting our "Talking Stick" and created a life size totem pole.

Holdheidi Prep draft 1
Today is Election day and we discussed what that meant to vote. We read a short book with only 2 characters in the book and told them they would be voting on their favorite character. First they had to create an identification card, by writing their name and drawing a self portrait on a small card. They were then called up to the voting booth, after showing their ID they were given a ballot. Each student walked into a secure voting booth and cast their vote.
Dog won the election!
We have been learning about Native Americans. We had a ceremonial circle and were given new Native American names. The name was given by picking a feather and each feather represented a name.
Aria is now Golden Sun.
Isabella is now Bright Fox.
Isla is now Brave Dragonfly.
Marlei is now Singing Hawk.
Maci is now Dancing Waters.
Wyatt is Wise Lightning.
