About the Practice
Houtan Taba, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has office locations in the Texas Medical Center area of Houston and Pearland, Texas. At his private practice, Dr. Taba takes a conservative approach to care, exhausting all nonoperative options before proceeding with surgery. When surgery is needed, he offers many minimally invasive procedures unique to him.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in chemistry at the University of Florida in Gainesville, graduating with honors, Dr. Taba remained at his alma mater to complete his Doctor of Medicine, as well as his orthopedic surgical residency program. Dr. Taba then went on to complete his fellowship training in orthopedic spine surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Throughout his education and training, Dr. Taba received multiple awards and recognitions for his accomplishments, including the Academic Excellence Award, Outstanding Resident Educator, and membership into The Phi Beta Kappa Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He served as chief resident during his orthopedic surgical residency program at the University of Florida, and treated NCAA Division I athletes at both University of Florida and University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Dedicated to his profession, Dr. Taba is a professional member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the American Medical Association.
During his free time, Dr. Taba enjoys running, cycling, and playing the guitar. He’s also a big Florida Gators sports fan, and loves attending live sports events and concerts.
