The Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) was founded in 1975 by a group of American and Canadian physicians, scientists and philanthropists. What they found was intellectual brilliance, confounded by a profound lack of available funds for scientific research. Seeking to deter the loss of Israel's most promising cancer researchers to foreign universities, the group founded the Israel Cancer Research Fund to support outstanding cancer research in Israel for the benefit of the entire world.
With chapters in New York, Connecticut, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Montreal and Jerusalem, ICRF is proud to be the largest voluntary charitable organization solely focused on supporting cancer research in Israel. ICRF has provided more than $56 Million to support more than 2100 cancer research projects in 24 different Israeli institutions. In our 2014-2015 funding cycle, ICRF is supporting the work of 94 scientists, and their laboratories in Israel, with grants totaling $3.45 Million
