Kahl Home provides Palliative Care to each and every Resident. The Palliative Care approach includes but is not limited to end-of-life care. In this respect, Palliative Care is not the same as Hospice. The Palliative Care Team identifies areas of concern in any of the 5 domains of pain (physical, emotional, familial, psychological, and spiritual) that an individual may experience when faced with a debilitating diagnosis. The Palliative Care Team then develops and implements strategies to address the areas of concern identified in the Palliative Care Assessment in order to provide relief, comfort, and support to the individual. The main goals of Palliative Care are to relieve pain, ease suffering, and to provide the best possible care.
