Fall is here, which means flu season is just around the corner. Everyone should get their yearly flu vaccine, but for adults over the age of 65 the risks that come with skipping out — complications, hospitalizations and more — are much greater. Make sure your loved ones get their yearly flu shot, and ask your doctor if you should receive a High Dose or Adjuvanted vaccine this year: http://ow.ly/fShL50BBFeA
Kahl Home provides Palliative Care to each and every Resident. The Palliative Care approach includes but is not limited to end-of-life care. In this respect, Palliative Care is not the same as Hospice. The Palliative Care Team identifies areas of concern in any of the 5 domains of pain (physical, emotional, familial, psychological, and spiritual) that an individual may experience when faced with a debilitating diagnosis. The Palliative Care Team then develops and implements strategies to address the areas of concern identified in the Palliative Care Assessment in order to provide relief, comfort, and support to the individual. The main goals of Palliative Care are to relieve pain, ease suffering, and to provide the best possible care. Sr. Maureen Paul Angeline, O. Carm
