I received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. At Liberty I received an education that equipped me to understand the ethics and responsibilities of being an effective counselor. I also learned about the causes and various symptoms of the different emotional and mental disorders, the various developmental problems and the numerous problems that destroy human relationships. Additionally we studied the different methods of treatment for each of the disorders that have a demonstrated history of effectively alleviating the causes of emotional, mental and relational distress. At Liberty I also learned how the spiritual dimension of life impacts our emotional, mental and relational health and how to help people find healing emotionally, and mentally as well as spiritually.
I did post graduate training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, which is a specialized technique that was originally developed to assist in PTSD but has since been discovered to have much wider application with phobias, drug addiction, chronic pain, any type of trauma, etc.
In addition to my education I bring something that cannot be gained in a classroom, the perspective, the understanding and the wisdom that is the result of living more than six decades of life and learning from both my successes and my failures. Failure is not the worst thing that can happen to us unless it is the last thing. Success in life is not about how many times we fall, it is about how many times we get up.
