Our splash pad is finally finished and complements the rest of our playgrounds and the school property perfectly! There are a lot of Kiddie Academy students looking forward to using it next week!!

We understand how much anxiety there is when sending your child to school during the pandemic. At Kiddie Academy of Elkhorn, we are currently following ALL of the CDC recommendations for child care centers to protect our students and faculty against Covid-19. This includes temperature checks, masks for visitors in our classrooms and corridor, and increased hand hygiene and disinfecting practices.

The diaper drive for the Bethlehem House was a HUGE success. With the support of our families and staff we donated 8,548 diapers. Your support and generosity we received blew us away, thank you so much!

CLASSROOM SPOLIGHT
This month we are shining a light on our Innovators Preschool Classroom!
This class of 4-year-old preschool students is led by Miss Sarah and Ms. Tali. Miss Sarah has her bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis in Elementary Education and Literacy. Ms. Tali has her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and is a Certified Teacher.
Innovators is currently working on: How to write their names and the letter P.
Classroom Goal: Continue to develop individual self-help skills and to know all the sounds and letters of the alphabet
January’s theme: To work on the “How & Why” of things: how it is made and how and why it works. This week, students made potato chips from fresh potatoes to examine how food is grown and made into the things we eat!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary Kiddie Academy of Elkhorn! We celebrated the day with balloon animals, stories, games and of course, cake! Thank you to all of our incredible students and families for all of their support, and to our world class teachers for their dedication and hard work over the past year!
Thank you to #skylinepediatricdentistry for coming to the Academy today during National Pediatric Dental Month. Our students had a great time learning about how to take better care of their teeth!
Sweet treats at our Valentine’s Day parties today helped us remember to be sweet to each other. And Kiddie Academy of Elkhorn has the sweetest kids ever!
A big shout out to our terrific Girl Scouts who came yesterday to sell cookies to our families, and a THANK YOU to our awesome Kiddie Academy families who donated 171 boxes of cookies for our servicemen and women currently stationed overseas. Those cookies will be shipped directly to various US active duty military units along with cards and letters from our students.

It's incredible!! Kiddie Academy of Elkhorn students collected 11,470 pop tabs in 2020 to donate to the Ronald McDonald House! A HUGE thank you to all of our students, families, faculty and visitors who contributed. It was a group effort, and will help support those who need a home away from home during medical treatment.
Now, let's see if we can beat that total with our next collection!
