Advices for parents
Nourishing your child’s mental health✨
Our children are like sponges! We can use this to our advantage by being a positive role model for them. We can show them by what we say, do and how we listen to them. Here are some ways you can nourish your child’s mental health.
🧩When listening to your child speak, give them your full attention and be present so they feel heard.
🧩Allow them their autonomy by letting them make their own decisions.
🧩Talk, talk and talk with your child. Allow them to feel heard and be able to express their feelings to you so they feel validated.
🧩Provide opportunities for your child to have relationships with family and other great kids.
🧩Shower your child with love so that they feel that they are safe and valued.
🧩Be affectionate with them.
🧩Ask them caring questions.
🧩Create meaningful family traditions.
🧩Love what they love.

Tips for parents💡
Witching hour activities / Calming activities
Does the term “Witching hour” give you an instant headache? That torturous window between dinner and bedtime, when the kids are winding up and you just want to wind down, get dinner ready and prepare them for bedtime! It sure can feel like an eternity and because everyone is tired, tempers can escalate really quickly!
We have put together a few 'calming down' activities for your little ones that may help. Try implementing them before the witching hour strikes so that you are one step ahead of the madness that may occur.
✭Give them a bubble bath
✭Colour in pictures in a colouring in book
✭Blow pom poms with a straw
✭Play I spy around the room
✭Pop bubble wrap
✭Play with Lego
✭Give them something crunchy to eat like a carrot or some celery
✭Discover items hidden in a sensory bin - like water beads, dried pasta or split peas

Energy busting activities for your children 🧩🎈🎨 ⚽️
Here are some fun action games to try at home when your children are needing to expend some energy.
🔹Wheelbarrow walk across the room with a parent. If it’s too tricky, hold under thighs instead of ankles.
🔹Have a push-o-war with a swiss ball between siblings.
🔹Do animal walks across the room; pretend to be a bear, a duck, a dog, a crab or a seal.
🔹Do animal hops across the room; pretend to be a frog, a kangaroo or a bunny.
🔹Do some yoga stretching together.
What are some of your children’s favourite energy busting activities?❤️
Happy Birthday to you 🎈🎂🎊🎉🎁
Marshmallow Igloo (Preschool Classroom, F st Campus)
For this activity we used paper plates, cups, and marshmallow to create our own igloo. We learned that if we lived in the snow an igloo will keep you warm! Each marshmallow represented a block of snow. This activity enhanced fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and nurtured their creativity. Everyone enjoyed this activity.
Thank you to the awesome Mrs. Tamika!!
From Ms. Yazmin (Preschool I):
Today brings activities for children’s learning including matching the letters “ABC”. The visual memory and discrimination involved, the identification of patterns and relationships, and similarity and difference help children to learn about early representation and problem solving. Matching and sorting activities can also be good for developing fine motor skills.
Our teachers are super creative and simply amazing ❤️🥰
