At Kiddie University Capitol Hill, we view our center and classrooms as a small learning community. We believe in learning through play, and use this early childhood methodology to foster learning in children. We utilize the Creative Curriculum which is an extension of our philosophy and goals for the children.
Activities with children aim to be child-directed and teacher assisted. Classrooms are set up to allow children to explore, to question, and to work independently in a group or with a teacher. Play is a tool for learning that helps to formulate healthy relationships with peers and adults.
To further support children’s growth and development, we provide and encourage many opportunities for parent involvement. We maintain the approach of parents serving as primary teachers of their children. Our goal is to form strong partnerships between teachers, the director, and the community .
We focus on Gross and Fine Motor development, Cognitive Development, Physical Development, Social Development, Mathematical Skills & Critical Thinking, Emotional, Family Involvement, and Community Development. By providing enriching experiences that stimulate learning and focusing on the whole child, Kiddie University Capitol Hill helps the child to develop life long learning skills and positive experiences.
