The Corpus Christi Police Department is committed to ensuring that citizens of the city as well as visitors have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July experience.
We want to remind our community that discharging fireworks in the city limits to include the beach, is illegal. If you are caught discharging fireworks it could cost you up to $2000.
Discharging a firearm with in the city limits is not only illegal but is very dangerous. Shooting a gun in the air can cause serious bodily injury or even death.
Please do not drink and drive. We want you to celebrate and have a great time this weekend. We also want you to have a plan in case you decide to drink. Have a designated driver, call a cab, call a ride sharing service or call a friend. We want everyone to make it home safe.
We urge everyone to follow the recommend safety procedures pertaining to social gatherings due to COVID-19. Remember social distancing, wear a mask, practice good personal hygiene and if you feel sick, stay home.
Please use good common sense and enjoy this holiday weekend. Happy 4th of July.
