Does your child have difficulty with fine motor skills, decreased hand strength or issues with coordinating arms for daily living skills? Playdoh is a versatile tool that can be used to help improve all of these areas and can be graded to be as easy or difficult as necessary. Grab some Playdoh, any old items you have laying around the house or your junk drawer (clothes pins, q-tips, golf tees, ball bearings, etc.) and lay them out on the table. Have you child roll, pinch, poke, and smash the Playdoh into different shapes and sizes. They can push different material items into the Playdoh to work on finger strength. You can have them practice writing in the Playdoh using a toothpick for increased resistance and a fun new take on handwriting. This activity is only limited by your creativity, so get some Playdoh and have some therapeutic fun at home!
We would love to be a trusted resource for you and your family! If you have a child between the ages of birth to 3 years-old and their Early-On services have been interrupted, there are many things you can do to ensure they continue to make progress. As in all areas of life, communication is key. Don't be afraid to reach out to your service coordinator and ask questions. In the mean-time, follow your child's lead and keep track of their progress and challenges for when they are able to continue services. You can also reach out to us and schedule an appointment with one of our physical therapists, occupational therapists, and/or speech therapists to help bridge the gap created by COVID-19. We are here to help!

The weather is looking sunny this week!! Get outside and take a walk!! A fun way to incorporate language activities on your walk, is by playing an "I spy" BINGO game with your child!
*make a grid of any size and fill it with objects you may see on your walk! See if your child can fill their board by the end!
We are so excited to have Children's Center for Growth and Development join our team!

We are proud to announce that CCGD is now partnered with Ivy Rehabilitation for Kids! Our mission and dedication to providing the highest quality services will continue to be our focus and commitment to you. While you may notice some slight changes, you will continue to be served by the same familiar and friendly faces.
It has been a honor to serve you and your family over the years. We thank you for entrusting us and allowing us to join you in your child's journey to meeting their goals and living their best life!
Over the next few months Beth will continue to assist with establishing a smooth transition as Kristen Arthurs takes over as Director of CCGD/Ivy Rehab. We know that she will lead CCGD confidently into the next chapter to build a stronger resource for the families of our community.
Thank you for so many memories. We have met so many wonderful families and will continue to carry you all in our hearts!

⭐⭐MEET THE TEAM⭐⭐
Cara is one of our phenomenal occupational therapists here at Leaps! She's been with us now for 3 and a half years!! Cara is most known for her patience and kindness with every single person she meets!
The thing she loves most about her job is getting to know each child and watching them discover their potential! She enjoys working in the areas of sensory processing, feeding and handwriting.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, trying new restaurants, going up north, reading and teaching ballet! Within the last year, Cara had a beautiful baby girl and is so proud to be her mom! 😊
