Dr. Melody Benjamin is a hematologist and medical oncologist who practices in Ventura. She is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, and offers patients access to on-site clinical trials and research.
While Dr. Benjamin is interested in breast cancer and cancer prevention, she enjoys being a generalist, and seeing patients with all types of cancer and hematological disorders. Dr. Benjamin grew up in Kansas and received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she also completed her internal medicine residency and her hematology & oncology fellowship. She has been practicing in Ventura County for a decade, and before coming to UCLA Health in 2015, worked for Ventura County Medical Center, and in private practice.
Before medical school, Dr. Benjamin was a practicing pharmacist for five years. To this day, she strives to eliminate the number of medications patients need, and ensures that patients understand the medications prescribed for them.
When she's not working, Dr. Benjamin enjoys hiking and exercising with her children.
