All hail the High Line! Running nearly a mile and a half, from Gansevoort Street all the way to the northern edge of the West Side Yard, this elevated walkway has transformed a desolate, deserted railroad spur into one of New York’s most beautiful outdoor wonders – and in doing so created one of the hottest neighborhoods in Manhattan. Five million visitors flock to the High Line each year. And did you know it was inspired by the Promenade Plantée in Paris? Ooh la la!
