Drawing on her strong background in evidence-based medicine, Maryam emphasizes preventive care and enjoys establishing long-term relationships with her patients. Compassionate and understanding, she listens intently to her patients' needs and engages them in the medical decision-making process. She gained experience volunteering at St. Mary's Hospital and spent several years in family practice in Alameda. Maryam earned her MD from Baqai Medical College and completed her residency in Family Medicine at UCSF's Fresno campus as well as completing an earlier residency in Emergency Medicine in Pakistan. She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Arabic, and is board-certified in Family Medicine.
