About

The Mask and Wig Club, founded in 1889, is the oldest all-male collegiate musical comedy troupe in the United States. Each year, Mask and Wig produces two all-original shows.

A comedic production, Mask and Wig shows appeal to a broad range of audiences. In October, Mask and Wig performs on Penn’s campus for a weekend in October. In the spring, Mask and Wig members create a full-length musical. Each year’s Annual Production opens in the last week of January and runs until early April.

For over a century, Mask and Wig shows have been amazing audiences in Philadelphia and around the country. Performances feature live entertainment with 9-piece student band, a breathtaking tap dance at the end of the first act, and musical numbers that will be sure to dazzle and delight.

Each show begins with a cocktail hour, and ends with a floorshow where Club members perform tried and true bits.

The Mask and Wig Club House is also available for rentals. Please enquire on our website should you wish to learn more.

Another Sunday means another #CompanyHighlight!! Justin Cohen is a senior in the College and is Mask and Wig’s gorgeous Cast Director. Born and raised in New York, he majors in communication but minors in consumer psychology so it’s okay. Onstage, Justin has mastered the art of playing the goofy sidekick who needs permission to pee, as well as Cher (the two pillars of comedy). Offstage, you can find him screaming about pretty much any inconvenience to his day that he claims will give him “agida.” Although he never mentions it, Justin spent a semester in Australia, although he really just doesn’t talk about it whatsoever and how dare you even bring this up. He has publicly stated that, if needed, he would donate his left kidney to Simone Biles and his right kidney to Bethenny Frankel. Peace, Love, Bonobos.

Our first New Guy #CompanyHighlight! Mask and Wig’s number one brilliant new guy, Brandon Sayler, is a freshman in the College and plays Sax in the Band. We promise that he has more personality traits than telling everyone that he’s from Phoenix, Arizona because he also loves telling everyone that he’s a Physics major. Apart from Wig, Brandon is also a member of @pennoffthebeat a cappella, where he loves to sing his heart out!! He also loves hanging out with his best friend, his cat Billy.
Today is Election Day! It’s not a joke. Go Vote!
This week's #CompanyHighlight is another New Guy! What do you get when you mix Jeff Goldblum’s swag with Larry David’s personality and a carbon copy of Jerry Seinfeld? Mask and Wig’s newest cast member, Max Mester! A freshman in the college, Max plans on majoring in cinema studies and minoring in consumer pysch. Max hails from the beautiful city of Philadelphia, and is also a photographer for the Daily Pennsylvanian.
We interviewed Wendell Pritchett's assistant on the University of Pennsylvania's plan and policies for election day.
Sunday night = #CompanyHighlight What does looking behind a Catan board or camera have in common? Well, you’re likely to find Eli Ricanati! A junior in the Crew, Eli is studying Visual Studies in the College. Don’t know what that major is? He doesn’t either! Apart from Wig, Eli enjoys taking photographs, making short films, and having deep conversations about nothing in particular.
It's time for this week's #CompanyHighlight! If it's nine o'clock on a Saturday who do you call? The best piano man on campus, Tom Fanelli! Not only will Tom play you a tune, but as the one and only grill master on Penn's campus he'll also make you the best burger you've ever had. Keep your eyes peeled for Tom on Locust cause if you see him you're gonna wanna meet him.
Did you just take...a nap?
It’s nearly Thanksgiving! Time to make the move from shorts and Ts to long sleeves and jeans. As you go through your clothes this week, consider giving any extra clothing to Mask and Wig’s clothing drive supporting Project HOME. DM for more information on how you can get involved.
New Guy #CompanyHighlight! A New Guy in Mask and Wig’s cast, Ryan Kim is the freshest of the freshmen. Ryan is currently undecided in the college, but don’t worry he’ll figure it out eventually. Born in Philly and raised in bright, sunny Southern California, Ryan loves good food, good company, and singing Jolene during lectures.

You hungry? You should be! This week's #CompanyHighlight is none other than New Guy Cheffy Nayak. When he's not in the kitchen, he's probably out taking photos. Samarth loves to play games and making great food. He's in Wharton and doesn't know his concentration yet, but he'll get it eventually. Did I mention, he loves to cook?
