News from the Connecticut Law Tribune:
"COVID-19 has caused havoc for many attorneys who had hopes of getting their cases moved quickly through the state’s judicial system.
And recently released statistics from the state’s Judicial Branch shows why: The number of pending cases in both civil and criminal court have skyrocketed in the last 12 months.
According to Judicial Branch statistics, pending cases from Aug. 25, 2020, compared to Aug. 25, 2019, have jumped, in some cases, more than 200%."
To anyone who practices law in the State of Connecticut, this is not a real shocker.
So.....
It has been announced that Jury Trials are expected to resume soon!
It will be interesting to see how the Judicial Branch balances safety and the need to proceed with these trials.
For all of us who are waiting for justice to be done, this is good news!
