Cardiologist Mauro Ortiz, MD is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and he practices primarily out of Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio’s Medical Center location. He specializes in invasive/non-interventional cardiology with an emphasis on nuclear and echocardiography and diagnostic angiography.
Dr. Ortiz's undergraduate studies took place at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, and at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, before he completed his medical degree at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. While there, he completed a research fellowship in hyperbaric medicine and surgical infectious diseases.
He completed his residency, including serving as chief resident, in internal medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Ortiz made his way back to Texas in 2000 to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Ortiz is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiologists. He belongs to a number of other professional organizations including the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and Texas Medical Association.
