Megha Kothari, MD, is a hepatologist andgastroenterologist and an associate director ofhepatology at NewYork-Presbyterian BrooklynMethodist Hospital. She is also the director ofwomen’s GI health at the hospital.Dr. Kothari treats patients with a wide rangeof gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD,obesity, colon cancer, colon polyps, celiacdisease, motility disease, hepatitis B and C, liverdisease, and irritable bowel syndrome, as well asswallowing disorders, constipation, abdominalpain, and hemorrhoids. She is a member ofseveral organizations including the AmericanCollege of Gastroenterology, the AmericanGastroenterological Association, and theAmerican Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.Dr. Kothari’s clinical interests are in endoscopyand women’s digestive health, and she haspublished research on colon cancer, ulcerativecolitis, and pancreatitis.After graduating from St. George’s UniversitySchool of Medicine, Dr. Kothari served herinternship in internal medicine at NorthShore-Long Island Jewish Health System andcompleted her fellowship in hepatology atSUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.She returned to North Shore-Long Island JewishHealth System for her fellowship training ingastroenterology. Dr. Kothari is fluent in English,Gujarati, and Hindi.
