Sickle cell disease is the most common hereditary blood disorder in the U.S. For those who have it, blood transfusions may be the only relief from excruciating pain associated with the disease—but finding the right match is key. Memorial Blood Centers' Sickle Cell Donor Program uses an extensive typing process to screen donors and match them with patients in need. To learn more, visit MBC.ORG.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, mobile blood drives were cancelled while the world adjusted to its new normal. That meant 50% of our community's blood donations were put on hold or cancelled. But the need for blood doesn't stop for a pandemic. Today our inventory is dangerously low on all blood types. Can you help bridge the gap? Schedule your appointment at a donor center OR a mobile blood drive—we're taking precautions to keep you and our staff safe during these challenging times. www.mbcherohub.club or 1-888-448-3253 #TransfusionTuesday #savelives
John has been the coordinator for our blood drive of the week since it started back in 1999. For over 20 years, Grand Rapids Eagles Club has hosted a blood drive the day after Labor Day. This year was no different. In fact, it was a record setting year bringing in 54 units! It was a smooth day filled with lots of wonderful donors. Thank you to everyone who made this drive a success!
We are dangerously low on ALL blood types this Tuesday after the Labor Day weekend. As students sit down for distance and hybrid learning, there's one thing they're not preparing for—school blood drives. Nearly 50% of the blood we collect comes from mobile blood drives in schools, colleges, and businesses, and without those community opportunities we need YOUR help to maintain a stable supply of blood for our local hospitals. Schedule your appointment at mbcherohub.club or 1-888-448-3253 #TransfusionTuesday #savelives

A huge thank you to everyone who made our blood drive of the week such a success! Piedmont Dental hosted Kathy's Life Savers drive which was in honor and support of Kathy, a very dedicated and loved employee and friend who is battling AML Leukemia. Each donor received a custom mask and a special cookie as they stepped up to save lives in support of Kathy. They far exceeded their goal by 143%, helping many area patients!

This has been a year that’s changed the world. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hit the U.S. our opportunities to collect life-saving blood in the community have dropped—at times by as much as 80%. This Give to the Max Day, we’re offering our community another way to give back and help save lives. A financial gift from you, even a small one, helps us connect our life-saving mission to donors in our community, and helps us meet the needs and challenges of the day. What do you say? https://www.givemn.org/organization/Memorialbloodcenters #GTMD20

Our mission is tied closely to today's holiday. We are grateful to the dedicated veterans who have given their hearts and souls to this country. We wouldn't be where we are today without you. #ThankYou#VeteransDay
