Who in their right mind would ever want to go from 0 to 67 mph in 10 seconds and then get flung around a 400-foot track in connecting seats? At least 300 million people, and that’s just in U.S. theme parks alone. Riding a roller coaster is one of the greatest thrills you can experience, aside from jumping out of an airplane. Aug. 16 is National Roller Coaster Day, and while we might not be able to visit all our favorite coasters right now, we can still celebrate all the thrills they provide.
