UPDATE: 09/12/2020 and continuing...please check back for updates to ‘low risk’ states list. In the current pandemic situation, travel outside the local area continues to carry increased risk for COVID-19 transmission. Governor Baker has issued a Travel Order, effective August 1, 2020, requiring that travelers returning to MA from any DPH-designated “affected states”, including college students returning the campus for the fall, complete the “Massachusetts Travel Form” and quarantine for 14 days. These travel requirements do not apply if the person has traveled to and returned from any of the lower risk states below: As of 9/12/20: CT, CO, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA, VT, WA, WY. or if they are included in any of the other exemptions listed below. You may find the Travel Order/Travel Form at http://www.mass.gov/MAtraveler. Exemptions: You do not have to quarantine IF 1. You have traveled and returned from a state that has been identified by DPH as a lower risk COVID-19 state (currently NY, NJ, CT, MA, ME, RI, VT, NH, and HI) 2. You only passed through the affected state in your travels 3. You commute across state lines for work 4. You travel to MA for medical treatment 5. You are military personnel complying with military orders 6. You travel to work in a federally designated essential services sector We will continue to follow our existing protocols, and to contact our patients for appointment reminders and symptom review as we have been doing since we reopened. We will inquire more specifically travel, and if you have traveled to, and are returning from, an affected state, we will reschedule your appointment to a date after the mandatory 14-day quarantine is over. If you experience any symptoms during the 14-day quarantine period, we will extend the appointment date to 14 days after you first noticed symptoms. If you wish to shorten the 14-day quarantine period, in addition to the State-mandated negative test result, our offices require proof of a second negative result from another test taken, at minimum, 3 days (72 hours) after return. We thank everyone for your continued patience and understanding as we adjust our procedures to maintain the continued health and safety of our patients and staff. -The Staff of the MVA Center MASS.GOV COVID-19 Travel Order
While a general practitioner will be able to treat your child's cough, they will have to point you towards a pediatrician if the case turns out to be more serious. Given a GP's training however, they will be able to give detailed descriptions of the issue, thus giving the pediatrician a head start.
Cardiology is a branch of internal medicine and is one of the most in-demand specializations. After all, heart disease is the leading cause of mortality in the country with nearly two persons succumbing to it every minute.
A person dealing with digestive issues will need to see a gastroenterologist to be able to manage their condition effectively. Such doctors are experts in disorders of the digestive tract and will be able to render accurate diagnoses and dispense appropriate medication.
What is an oncologist? This is a medical doctor whose primary concern is the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. There are three types —medical, surgical and radiation— who perform different procedures to achieve the lofty goal of beating the disease.
A surgical oncologist removes cancer from the bodies of their patients. Their methods are particularly effective for solid cancers, although patients who've undergone cancer surgery may also receive multi-modal care (i.e. radiotherapy and chemotherapy) to ensure success.
Monday, 2/1/2021: Due to the weather, the MVA Center will close at 12:00 PM today.
