Congratulations Albemarle County Police Department 11 hrs · Congratulations to this year's Detective of the Year - Detective Andrew Holmes. Detective Holmes is known for his quest for excellence in every aspect of an investigation. During 2020, Detective Holmes was specifically assigned as the lead investigator for three homicides, of which an arrest was made in all three cases. He also took the lead in solving armed robbery cases that occurred in Albemarle, Charlottesville, and Stafford. Detective Holmes is known for his care and compassion when working with victims and family members, as well as his unwavering resolve to bringing justice for victims and their families.
