About

Since 2000, the NeuroBehavioral Institute has provided treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults. Driven by the core goal of addressing the needs of patients who lack specialized resources, our team of practitioner-scientists collaborate to deliver high-quality evidence-supported psychological services for those with severe and complex symptoms or challenging co-morbidities. We custom-tailor our treatment and care programs to address the specific needs of each patient. We appreciate the unique cultural implications that may impact how our patients express or respond to certain approaches. Our NBI clinicians have experience serving individuals and families from across the globe, in addition to those in the United States.

The team enjoyed the eloquent presentation and his new book titled, Concussion: Traumatic Brain Injury from Head to Tail. Understanding the relationship of TBI to OCD, Anxiety, and Depression is a vital topic for our team at NBI. This discussion furthered our understanding of the medical aspects of TBI specific psychological symptoms and conditions. Did you know that Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most highly researched and proven treatment to help people find new ways to behave by changing their thought patterns? CBT is a problem-specific, goal-oriented approach that focuses on a person's present-day challenges, thoughts, and behaviors. To succeed, CBT requires the individual's active involvement, so they become aware of incorrect or negative thinking to view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them more effectively. 💡 What is Anxiety? Anxiety is like a “false alarm.” The mind and body feel “as if” they are in a dangerous situation that requires some type of decisive action when they are actually not. This is known as “fight or flight.” However, despite this distressing state, most people can recognize that their heightened concerns and reactive bodily sensations are excessive, even irrational. Unfortunately, anxiety is progressive in many cases. Natural instincts, such as avoiding stressful situations, finding “safety cues” like sitting near an exit, or constantly seeking reassurance only make this problem worse over time. If you would like to know how we may assist you or a family member or friend, please call us at 954-217-1757.
