Vaccination has officially begun at North Oaks! Last week, we hosted a vaccine clinic on site so that all North Oaks residents and staff could receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. Independent living resident Joyce Friedman and North Oaks nurse Kadie Bah were among the first in the community to receive the vaccine. All residents and staff who were vaccinated also received goodie bags after getting their shot! Wishing everyone a Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day! The North Oaks community celebrated with a door-to-door cart featuring Whiskey sours, Guinness Beer, and other alcohol-free drinks. Executive Chef Nate and Chef De Cuisine Jason, participated in spreading the cheer by handing out green bead necklaces, chocolates and of course, soda bread. This past weekend, Gilchrist held a special ceremony to honor North Oaks resident Captain Marvin Solomon for his heroic Naval service in World War II.
