Think your pet is safe from ticks in winter? Think again! Ticks can actively seek a host any time the temperature is just above freezing. Know your pet is protected by keeping them on their preventatives all year round.

The amazing people at Hill’s Pet Nutrition surprised me today with a $7,500 donation towards my shelter bed Campaign! Before I even had a chance to say thank you, they also committed to shipping all 10,000 beds directly to the animal shelters, on their dime. Rarely am I speechless, but today was one of those days. I am so thankful for everyone that has helped me reach our goal! ❤️
What if I had one more surprise waiting for everyone... 😉 Stay tuned!

All you really need are coffee and kitty cuddles.
Some pets love being part of Halloween festivities. Others are totally freaked out! Keep your pets safe with these tips:
✅ Make sure your pet's microchip information is up to date.
✅ Pick up a refill of your pet's anxiety medication before the festivities begin.
✅ Keep pets indoors Halloween night. A quiet room with their favorite toy or blanket is the safest place for your pet.

We routinely use laser therapy post-operatively but did you know laser therapy can also help with arthritis? As the weather becomes cooler, you may notice your older pets becoming stiff. Laser therapy can help in the management of arthritis pain and inflammation, improving your pet's mobility.

Don't risk missing moments like these. Annual wellness visits and bloodwork can help us detect underlying health concerns in your pet before they become life-threatening problems. Don't wait until your pet is showing signs of illness or disease. Talk with our vets about routine bloodwork at your pet's next wellness visit.

Holiday Cheer is in the air! If you can donate to this amazing cause, we will be accepting non-perishable foods, new toys, gift cards and cash donations at the Police Station; 16540 Moonlight Rd from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

We've just diagnosed our TENTH dog with heartworm disease this year. To put that into perspective, we average about 3-4 dogs per year. We cannot stress strongly enough that your dog needs to be on heartworm prevention. Yes, even your dog that hardly goes outside. Yes, even in the winter months.
Treating heartworms can cost THOUSANDS 💰 and the damage is irreversible. Preventing heartworms costs as little as $9/month. We have affordable and convenient options, including Proheart 12 which protects your dog for a full 12 months with one injection. If you have questions about which heartworm preventative is right for your pet, give us a call.

What do you do with 18 homeless kittens? Well, if you are Mike Madrigal; you rescue them! Mike contacted us to get all 18 vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped before they go off to their new homes. We were able to help him with the cost using funds from our Veterinary Care Charitable Fund. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we are unable to host Pictures with Santa one of our only fundraising events. Without donations from you, we can't continue to support Good Samaritans like Mike.

Let's talk about food!
We're frequently asked what kind of dog food we recommend. If your pet is on a prescription diet to treat a specific medical condition, you need to feed that diet and ONLY that diet (no treats or table scraps) unless otherwise directed by your veterinarian.
Otherwise, there are a number of high quality options available. When selecting a food for your pet, read the label and look for the AAFCO Statement. This will tell you whether the food is nutritionally appropriate for your pet's stage of life. Foods without this "stamp of approval" may make any number of other claims; grain-free, all-natural, whole ingredient, but it has not been PROVEN to contain the nutrients your pet needs.
Say hello to Jodi & Winston! Jodi joined us last August and we're so lucky to have her! Not only does she do a phenomenal job caring for our furry guests, she assists with caring for our recovering patients, lends a hand (or two!) when our medical services staff needs assistance and helps maintain the cleanliness of our facility. Thanks Jodi!!
