As many know a buzz word is price transparency in healthcare. The president is trying to make sure the hospitals post their prices. We know this and everyone is about to find out...the small problem is hiding prices...the BIGGER problem is the PRICES. BayCare has taken out commercials during the Stanley Cup finals to tell us how important it is to estimate your cost. In this example I put in a XRAY 3 views of the ankle with no insurance. Your cost at St Anthony Hospital in St. Pete? $458 How about Winter Haven Hospital? $461. Let hope you don't need an ankle Xray in Bartow Regional...that will cost you $918! In my clinic will cost you $32. Thoughts?

I have personally watched him work on patients and add 10 Degrees of thoracic rotation using Dari motion and the Neufit. Last week he added 20 degrees of external rotation which helped my player learn how to shallow the shaft on the downswing. That would take years to do with a stretching program. We are leading the way for price transparency in Orthopedics. It's things like this we are working against:
“We are very disappointed that CMS continues down the unlawful path of requiring hospitals to disclose privately negotiated contract terms,” said Tom Nickels, the executive vice president of the American Hospital Association (AHA).
One of the reasons the AHA can't afford to disclose prices, is what it would do to public opinion. No one would use the hospital system for services they can get other places if they were informed!
For example a series of Xrays that you get in my clinic for $30-40 could cost you $300-400 if done at the hospital. It is time the general public has everything they need to make reasonable decisions for healthcare.
I volunteer to be the first to post every allowable fee from private insurance contracts! It's time!

There's a lot of discussion around price transparency. It is needed and past due. Patients are not able to set the market prices. It is currently controlled by Insurance companies through their contracts with providers. Did you know that you will pay a different price for the same visits or surgeries depending on what practice you go to? Did you know that large practices are able to negotiate with insurance companies and raise the price that you pay higher than small practices like ours? If you could have a better experience, a better surgery at a cheaper price wouldn't you want to know?

Dr. Jason Hunt from Ortholinks spending some time with Willy Deus tonight. We started on Dari motion and learned that Willy had incredible thoracic range in his backswing but not on his thru swing. He was not symmetrical... after 20 mins on the Neufit Dr. Hunt worked his magic and helped Willy match his incredible range. He now has the best spine in Tampa. If you are a coach in any sport, especially golf and you don’t take your student to work with Dr. Hunt you’re doing them a disservice. I went in for my first visit with Dr. Jason Hunt last Wednesday due to a torn hip labrum which has had me sidelined for the past 4 months. My pain level was an 8.5 when I got there. We reviewed my films and he said I was a definite candidate for surgery. From talking with others, I was prepared to sit out all of the 2021 and part of the 2022 competitive seasons. Dr. Hunt had other ideas. After time on his Dari Motion and Neufit systems, he had me hitting balls. I walked out with a pain factor of just 3. Eight days later I'm up to a 4-4.5 and am thrilled to be getting ready to play my first round tomorrow. Didn't think this day was going to come for two years! Can't wait to See Dr. Hunt next week for session #2!!!
