Dr. John Hoffman (Director of Outpatient Surgery) performed the first total hip and knee replacement surgery in the QC utilizing the MAKO SmartRobotics TM surgery system at MVSC. This technology allows for every patient to get a truly customized surgery based on their unique anatomy. Despite performing over 10,000 joint replacements in his career, Dr. Hoffman believes this new technology provides patients with “the absolute best patient experience in terms of reducing soft tissue trauma, post operative pain, and the time needed to return to normal daily activities.”
Director of Orthopaedic Robotic Surgery Dr. Robert Cagle was in attendance to witness this momentous occasion. Dr. Cagle himself has performed over 300 robotic-assisted cases and will be joining Orthopaeidc Specialists in Davenport and Clinton on March 1st.
