About Cary B. Chapman, MD
As a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Cary Chapman, MD, offers comprehensive care for a variety of orthopaedic conditions. Dr. Chapman holds a subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine and has had extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery for adults. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and an active member of both the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Chapman received the Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award and the New York Super Doctors award. He trains orthopaedic residents as a clinical assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital, where he also provides the latest in advanced orthopaedic treatment for patients in-house. Dr. Chapman also works closely with several outpatient surgical centers in Manhattan and New Jersey.
Earning his undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Chapman went on to finish his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. For his orthopaedic residency and fellowship in orthopaedic trauma research, Dr. Chapman attended New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Chapman completed another fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction with Roger Mann, MD, at the Orthopaedic Institute at the University of California-San Francisco in Oakland, California. Dr. Chapman has published in several orthopaedic journals on arthroscopy and pediatric orthopaedics and presents his work at regional and national meetings. He has lectured on many orthopaedic topics at Continuing Medical Education (CME) conferences.
