68 @!@@!! screws to get the !@!@@! back off. Plus it sensed my anger and assaulted me. The PMS surcharges kick in. Article 42. Excess screw charge. Article 7. Scratch or blood on hands. Seemed to have the outer ring of the a/c jack broken while plugged it. Going to have to take a small circuit board out to replace it. More !@@!! @!1 screws...
Had this Korg Chrome keyboard come in with a/c jack and output jack issues. If you design a keyboard, you have to use as many screws as possible on the bottom apparently.
Here's the latest PMS creation for Lovehoney guitarist Tom White of Brooklyn. Added mini-humbuckers, vibrolo system, and all the gold bling.
Isolating a guitarist's vocalisms. Turn it up !!! Kevguitare music‎Guitar Players on Facebook September 15 at 7:36 AM · The feeling of all the guitarist . 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Kevguitare music
Finished adjusting this nice Strat so the owner can do his Jeff Beck stuff. Maybe some Jan Hammer keyboard work would go well with it?
Just in !! An important new pedal.
Some people have been socially distancing outside too long with their gear.
Ha ! Revenge of the little sister. Ruth enjoyed calling the tunes while her big sister Elizabeth had to wing it by ear. Ready for her new jam band.
So on my gig Sunday, Jon's keyboard would turn off every now and then. PMS to the rescue ! He's all set for his big gig this week. 67 screws FYI. Nice to see Yamaha beefed up the housing around the a/c input jack. Didn't keep it from failing though.
Had an interesting crowd outside today. A few seemed to lose their heads over being at PMS.
Customer wanted a new neck on his EVH knockoff as well as the volume knob moved closer. Hate installing the Fender tuners with the 2 pins in the back you have to drill holes for !!!
That neck ain't coming off again !!!
Did a last minute restring on this nice Taylor nylon acoustic/electric. Owners product endorsement requires the DD cup.
4 year old Kendrick was a happy dude today playing one of his original songs over a Reggae beat.
Had an old student come in to restart lessons and get his guitar setup and restrung. His Fender Strat had an unfortunate "accident"
Customer wants his " beach guitar " setup and restrung. Could be the warped neck of the month. Non-adjustable neck also.
Welcome to bent neck day. 2 patients saw the chiropractor here and had their symptoms relieved. A nice Taylor and a Ibanez.
Personally, We would have used a 12mm wrench for more sustain, but the customer likes 10mm.
So in marches 6 year old Ruth in her pajamas. Big sister says she won't take them off. Ruth, " Why should I change, I'm just going to put them on later. " Impeccable logic. Also mom at work, dad brings them...
Did a restring on this Suzuki electric/acoustic . "Grandpa" had his long suffering roadie drop it off.
The return of Frankenstrat. DOA. Turned out to be a dead pot. Nice strap locks added. Seems to be a popular type of guitar lately.
Got to do a setup on Action#One for session bassist Rock Bottom today.
Getting ready to do a setup on this newer Gibson SG. It has an elaborate switching system with push-pull pots and internal pickup setups. Customer did some customizing also.
This 1941 Kalamazoo KG-11 made by Gibson came in today. Was unfortunately left in tune for many years and the non-adjustable neck is bowed. So time to plot a strategy to make it playable.
What !!!??? Somebody stole my idea. Mine would be a lot cheaper also.
Customer#1 brought in this Ibanez acoustic/electric complaining of no sound. Well there was no battery in it. Also took off the nylon strings that were on it. Not for this kind of guitar. Then Customer#2 showed up when I was at my car leaving. Messed up Tama snare drum. Told him it will be done in a day or 2. Nope, thought I'd fix it NOW while he waits as he has a million recording sessions to do. Gave him a loaner and fixed the very bent strainer switch the next day.. Also sticky from the large amount of tape holding it in place. Didn't know how it happened. Had lent it a couple of times recently.
Luciano Lucianito Jr. came by for a couple of guitar repairs and played one of his latest songs.
Did a setup, restring and case repair on this Ibanez for a renowned Tagalog guitarist.
Oh joy. A broken spring to change on this Alto Sax today.
Such helpful little girls. They should wash dad's amps next. Trent Egan shared a post to the group: Top Guitar Players - Community. Hmm..does this explain the behavior of Bassists and Guitarists? Maybe nickel wound strings are going to be banned.
Customer brought in his Korg M1, said an A flat key had no sound. An E flat key was broken. Said the input jack on his Crate amp was breaking up. The gain pot was broken.
Setup and restring on this Epiphone Les Paul. Bridge saddles didn't move back far enough to intonate properly and the bottom 3 strings so I had to turn them around to get it right.
One of our students bought this used Crate amp from guitar center. It started dying after 15 minutes or so. They won't fix it, but will give him a store gift card if he returns it. So PMS has the repair job. Note the burnt circuit board on the upper left.
Student brought in this leftly Squire bass with a few issues. Pickups were changed and not soldered very well so some wires fell off. Then a horrendous bow on the neck.
Here's a before and after shot of this Gibson SG finished today. Bigsby off, major setup, cleanup and restring.
Another Crate amp. Same problem. First we start by soldering a few things here. Also check out his vintage Tokai delay pedal. Then on to a Gemeinhardt flute with some stuck keys.
Customer has just retired. Time to start playing again. Step 1, bring the rig to PMS to get back in shape !
What a find for Ruth ! Much better than a cowbell or tambourine to annoy big sister while she's playing. Has to watch her reaction. Big sister would like to put Ruth inside the drum.
Vinny Rojas brought his bass drum he uses to play Banda with his group. Time for a renovation during the slow time for gigs
What happened to D string? Had these 2 nylon string guitars come in today with the same problem, breaking D strings. A Spanish Alhambra and an old Yamaha. An area ' Luthier " had an unsuccessful crack at them. PMS to the rescue !!
Had these 2 Fender acoustics from Conjunto De Lacruz come in today for some TLC.
One of our past students brought in this Strat for some TLC. Got dropped.
Today's project. Before & after on this Guild. Another creation for Tom White of LoveHoney. Mini-Huckers and a Vibrato system added plus setup. Their new CD is coming out 2.14.2021. Great guitar sounds using PMS creations.
Welcome to DOA effects day. First was a Fuzz pedal, then an Multi-Effects unit came in.
So the Gold and Chrome experience is finished. Total change over on these 2 plus new pickups in the SG. A lot of work ! We've heard from a reliable source that Gold is in for 2021.
Doing a restring and setup on this Alvarez 12 string.
So this nice Fender Jazz Bass came in today. Customer brought it to everybody's favorite big chain _ _ where he originally bought it for a setup and restring. When he went to pick it up there he noticed the nut was now broken on the B string and glued. It came apart after he played a couple of notes. There was also a new chip on the back. After a rather heated discussion he said he wasn't paying for the work, to which they agreed and he walked out. Now we have it. Score 1 for small business, Zero for big chain.

This little 4 channel head came in today. Customer dropped it, DOA.
Restring and setup on this Taylor today.
Today we have an Ibanez Bass that sat around in tune for about 10 years. Seriously bowed neck. And a nice pair of AKG headphones with a busted cord.

Had this Ibanez Bass come in for a restring today.
So the first customer comes and say's "what's the worst Bass neck you've worked on" never a good sign. Bad, but not the worst. Right on cue 10 minutes later, another customer comes in with a Strat copy complaining about terrible unplayable action. To top it off, the next student had to leave early to go to the (what else?) The Chiropractor !!
Just got in this Parker Fly in for setup and restring.

Restring and setup on this Taylor today.
This Gibson Flying V came in with some wiring issues. A zillion screws to open it up!

Time for people to get their old Bass in shape day. First a well known killer bassist who keeps me busy brought in his 6 string MBT bass for a setup and restring. Plus a broken cable. Then the leader of Grupo Andariegos brought in his bass for a restring and bridge work. Plus a mixer that's sat in a basement for several years making lots of scratching noises.
Today we had this very nice Ibanez 5 string Bass in for it's first service since customer bought it 6 months ago. Also a Behringer Strat copy bought at a tag sale needing a lot of TLC.
