Daily Duties include: the care of cats and dogs, basic grooming services (bathing and performing nail trims), the care and cleaning of the hospital, handling animals for veterinary procedures, client education, filling prescriptions, and assisting in surgery.
Applicants MUST be over the age of 18 and be able to: maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment, lift 30 pounds or more, stand and walk for much of the day, work a flexible schedule during our regular business hours and after hours on weekends and holidays, and put our clients’ and patients’ needs first and care for them like family.
Part-time positions are available, but a full time position may be available to the right applicant. No experience in a hospital setting is required. Experience with animals preferred.

Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital is a busy four doctor small animal practice located in Yorktown, Virginia. We are seeking a dedicated, technically skilled, and knowledgeable veterinary technician to join our patient care team.
Duties include, but are not limited to: venipuncture, IV and urinary catheter placement, intubation, monitoring anesthesia, performing dental cleanings and single root dental extractions, management of hospitalized cases, management of chemotherapy patients, performing diagnostic testing (such as radiology, ultrasonography, in house blood work, preparing and reading a fecal, urinalysis, skin scraping, and cytology), animal restraint, performing treatments (such as injections, vaccinations, clipping and cleansing wounds, basic skin closure, bandaging), and assisting in client and employee education.
Applicants MUST be over the age of 18, be licensed in the State of Virginia (or equivalent) or be a student at an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program. Applicants should be able to maintain a poised, pleasant and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment, lift 30 pounds or more, stand and walk for much of the day, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be organized and accurate (with attention to detail), have a broad knowledge of animal science, husbandry, and medicine, a demonstrated understanding of pharmacology and calculations, and be able to put our clients’ and patients’ needs first and care for them like family.
Licensed individuals with 3+ years of experience working in a small animal practice are preferred. However, we welcome the opportunity to shape new careers and are happy to meet with new graduates and current students.
